"Education that celebrates knowledge, skills, faith and service" 17 Cartier Drive P.O. Box 459 Terrace Bay, Ontario P0T 2W0 Phone: (807) 825-3255 Fax: (807) 825-2742 St. Martin News! St. Martin School: Family Literacy Day On the morning of January 27, 2010 the students, staff and parents of St. Martin School celebrated Family Literacy Day. The morning began with the students being placed into multi-aged groups and travelling to various classrooms for the first hour and a half. Each teacher had prepared a literacy activity for each groups' visit and it was so exciting to see the enthusiasm and co-operation present in each activity and within each group. The morning concluded with a buddy reading activity in the gym where we saw teachers reading with their students, brothers and sisters reading together and older students reading to the younger students. Each student left school with several activities to share and do with their families to promote a love of reading within each home. |
