Access to School Buildings to Retrieve Personal Belongings

Access to School Buildings to Retrieve Personal Belongings

Minister Lecce has announced that schools will not reopen this school year.

On Tuesday, June 2nd parents/guardians will be permitted to retrieve their child’s personal belongings from school.

Superior North Catholic District School Board considers students, staff and parents safety a number one priority. We thrive to ensure that everyone involved in the process of retrieving personal items is safe and that we have put measures in place to protect all involved.

Principals will arrange times and dates for drive-thru pick up of items. Drive-thru times should be scheduled by family. A schedule will be set by alphabetical order and the last names of students. Please see the example below:

  • Families with last names starting with A to M are to pick up their items between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
  • Families with last names starting with N to Z are to pick up their items between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Watch for further communication from your child(ren)'s school.

Please ensure that you adhere to the following guidelines when you are accessing the school.

For the safety of you and everyone else, please stay in your vehicle and drive through the orange pylons on “the street the pick up will occur” outside the school main office.

One of our staff members will place your child’s belongings on a table. All items will be placed in clear plastic bags, which the teachers have prepared in advance. Please check the items in the bag prior to leaving the premises to ensure that you have received the right belongings and all of your children's items.

We kindly ask you to leave the premises immediately after you have picked up your items in order to keep the line going.

We appreciate everyone's patience in this process, and we must follow the Thunder Bay District Health Unit Plan to keep everyone involved safe.

Thank you and stay safe.
