Annual Terry Fox Run at Our Lady of Lourdes

Annual Terry Fox Run at Our Lady of Lourdes

On Wednesday, September 27th, 2017, students, staff and families of Our Lady of Lourdes School participated in their annual Terry Fox Walk. We were happy to welcome some of our Best Start partners and families.

Students were encouraged to bring in a coloured running shoe honouring a member or in memory of family members battling cancer. Donations were collected with over $400.00 being donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.

A T-Shirt draw was held and Alexa Hardy as the recipient led the walk towards the center of town and back to the school. Upon returning to the school, students and families were treated to a free hot dog lunch prepared by some wonderful volunteers.

Volunteers serving students are Terry Fox Run.

The annual Terry Fox Walk brings community within the school walls all working together and advocating for such a worthy cause as raising money for cancer research and keeping Terry's dream alive. This event also topped off the learning that has been taking place over the last few weeks about Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.

Students at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School exemplified leadership by taking action in this great cause.
