Director's Message - September 2019
"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." - L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
As we begin the month of October, we tend to think of Thanksgiving and gratitude. The mood is reflective and calm. Autumn brings beauty, especially to Northern Ontario where we are surrounded by nature and tranquility.
Meanwhile, students have settled into their learning routine, continue to build relationships with friends, and prepare for the season of Thanksgiving. Our Catholic values inform us to be thankful, in harmony and support each other. Colossians Chapter 3 states, “And may the peace of Christ be in your hearts because it is for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful. Let the Word of Christ in all its richness find a home with you. Teach each other, advise each other, in all wisdom (v. 15-16). Our schools should be an example of this message in all that we do.
Much work was completed this past summer to some of our schools. Upgrades included and not limited to, flooring, painting, playground safety, and new furniture. We are committed to improving all our schools over the next few years so our students can learn in an environment they can be proud of. In addition, our senior team has completed the Board Improvement Plan which directly sets goals for programming.
We look forward to a great school year ahead and I wish all our school board community a wonderful Thanksgiving.
