St. Martin Catholic School in Terrace Bay

Through the Lenten season, the Gr. 1/2 class is putting their faith into action, demonstrating compassion through their class Lenten promise, with a focus on giving.

"Use your voice for kindness, your ears for compassion, your hands for charity, your mind for truth, and your heart for love."

The grade seven and eight class at St. Martin Catholic School discussed how they can show compassion, and what it means to care throughout the month of February. They actively participated in deep meaningful Talking Circles where students realized that they are not alone in their life’s challenges and within the Talking Circles they found a new found compassion for one another and have refocused what they need to do for one another to show they care.

The students also discussed what it means to be rich, and in groups, they brainstormed their ideas. They read The Table Where Rich People Sit, by Byrd Baylor and they added more thoughts as the story unfolded. “Rich because God Loves You” was how they ended their discussions!
