Math Lessons at Holy Angels Catholic School

Holy Angels Catholic School took part in math lesson from a read aloud about growing patterns found in nature that the Italian mathematician Fibonacci.

With assistance from their teacher, Mrs. Jen Speziale, the students took the patterns found at the beginning of the book and found the rule.

Together they demonstrated it with coloured counters on the carpet. They talked about how patterns have a rule they follow, like in nature. They talked
about how a clover has "instructions" to grow 3 leafs and why a 4 leaf clover is so rare. So they learned that when we build patterns they must have
a rule to follow, like a clover.
