Media Release - Attendance Counsellor

Superior North Catholic District School Board is thrilled to welcome to our team Ms. Michelle Legacy as our new Attendance Counsellor.

Ms. Legacy completed her Social Service Worker Diploma from Confederation in 2002. In addition to her education, she has over sixteen (16) years experience providing support services to individuals, families and communities in the District of Thunder Bay.

Michelle has been employed with Dilico Anishinabek Family Care for the past eleven (11) years primarily in Mental Health & Addictions Services in the Nipigon District Office.

Michelle has extensive experience in Case Management and is a strong leader. She has had several years’ experience providing counselling and advocacy as well as presenting and educating clients, indigenous communities and professionals on various topics of mental health and addictions, health & wellness and life skills.

Michelle is also an active member in her community. She teaches fitness classes and volunteers her time organizing and fundraising for various community events, including the Red Rock Folk Festival, Winter Carnival & Santa Skate.

Ms. Legacy looks forward to learning her new role, working collaboratively with her new team as well as supporting parents and children here at Superior North Catholic District School Board.
