Student Vote at St. Edward Catholic School

The Grade 5 students at St. Edward Catholic School participated in the CIVIX Student Vote today. After learning about the various platforms of our local candidates for mayor and council, they held our own election.

Student Vote is a parallel election for students under the voting age, coinciding with official election periods. The purpose is to provide young Canadians with an opportunity to experience the democratic process firsthand and practice the habits of informed and engaged citizenship. http://civix.ca/studentvote/

The students are excited to see how close their election results are to the municipal election!
