Virtual Summer Learning Program 2021
Students from all Superior North Catholic District School Board (SNCDSB) schools are participating in the SNCDSB Virtual Summer Learning Program. The Summer Learning Team is excited to support students through the three-week program. The team has been preparing for weeks to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities focused on numeracy and literacy skills. Students will meet synchronously for two hours Monday to Friday using Google Apps for Education. Students will engage in real-world STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) learning.
Each Summer Learning participant was provided with a Discovery Box that contains all the instructional materials for the program, as well as learning experiences for parents/guardians to engage in with their child(ren) as extensions to student synchronous learning. There are many experiential learning opportunities planned including canvas painting with The Creative, making Dreamcatchers with Andrea Favel from Dilico, Zumba with Andrea and learning about trades and technology with Skills Ontario.
The three-week program kicks off Monday, July 5 with an orientation “Welcome to the SNCDSB Virtual Summer Learning” assembly. During the 45 minute assembly, students and parents/guardians will the opportunity to meet the educational staff that will be supporting the program, meet their peers, review their orientation package and ask questions.
SNCDSB Summer Learning Team is looking forward to educating students heart, mind and soul from July 5 - 23 through the virtual Summer Learning Program and would like to thank all families engaged in the learning for this opportunity.
