The Superior North Catholic District School Board (SNCDSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Wilson as the new Technology Enabled Learning Teacher (TELT).

Stephen Wilson brings more than 21 years of experience in education to the Technology Enabled Learning Teacher role, with a diverse background that includes teaching, system-level learning leadership, and school administration in both elementary and secondary settings. Throughout his career, Stephen has embraced opportunities to use technology to strengthen teaching and learning, including teaching eLearning courses and supporting students, families, and staff through the transition to virtual learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stephen is passionate about the students, families, schools, and communities of Northwestern Ontario and believes technology is most powerful when it responds to the individual strengths, needs, and interests of learners. In his new role, he looks forward to working alongside educators to explore purposeful and innovative uses of technology that support teaching excellence and focused student learning. He is especially excited about the opportunity to visit schools and communities across the region, building relationships, learning from educators and students, and supporting their work where it happens. Stephen sees technology as a powerful way to connect learners and educators across Northwestern Ontario while helping students develop important 21st-century competencies through collaboration, communication, and creativity.

At the heart of Stephen’s approach is a belief that leadership and education are acts of service. Grounded in the Catholic call to serve others, he looks forward to listening, learning, sharing, and working alongside colleagues to help remove barriers and create opportunities for students and educators. Technology is one tool in that work; relationships, excellent teaching, and a shared commitment to serving students remain at its centre.
