The Superior North Catholic District School Board is excited to welcome Gert Schreoder to our team as our new Indigenous Education Manager, starting February 3, 2025.
Gert Schreoder was born and raised in Rossport, Ontario. She is Anishinaabe with German ancestry and a proud band member of Lac Seul First Nation.
Gert Schreoder obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Lakehead University and a post-grad certificate as a Learning Disability Specialist from Cambrian College. As a lifelong learner, she has also completed a Teacher of Adults certificate and a post-grad certificate in Healthcare Administration.
She has worked in various roles of Indigenous social work and Indigenous education over the past eighteen years. She was able to connect to her culture by engaging with the Indigenous communities that she served in, and this has become a very rewarding experience for her.
"I am passionate about integrating Indigenous ways of knowing and being in every aspect of a student’s educational journey. I look forward to engaging with communities, building relationships and striving for excellence to ensure student success."
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, nature, and learning Anishinaabemowin.
The Superior North Catholic District School Board is excited to welcome Gert Schreoder and her passion for Indigenous education to our team.
