Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to share some important updates to our Board’s Code of Conduct Policy and Procedure, which have been revised to align with the latest guidance from the Ministry of Education. These changes are designed to help ensure our schools remain safe, respectful, and focused learning environments for all students.
What’s New in the Code of Conduct?
Here are the key updates we want you to know about:
Personal Devices at School:
- There are stronger expectations about when and how personal mobile devices (like cell phones) can be used during the school day.
Social Media Access:
- Technology has been implemented to limit access to social media platforms on school networks and devices to help students stay focused on their learning.
Vaping and Tobacco Products:
- Clear consequences are now in place for the possession or use of vaping and tobacco products at school.
Behaviour Expectations
- Updated standards make it clear that behaviours such as harassment, theft, and abusive language are not acceptable. Respect for others remains a top priority.
Signage in Schools:
- Schools have new signs to help everyone understand behaviour expectations and create welcoming, safe environments.
Why Are These Changes Important?
These updates help create a school environment where every student can focus on their learning and well-being. They are part of our commitment to supporting respectful and inclusive school communities.
