The Superior North Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberley Figliomeni as Assistant Superintendent of Education.
Kim brings a deep commitment to Catholic education, student achievement and well-being, and the continued growth of Superior North Catholic District School Board. Having served SNCDSB for the past 20 years, she brings extensive experience as an educator, school administrator, instructional leader, and system contributor. Her leadership is grounded in faith, relationships, equity, service, and a belief that students and staff thrive when they feel known, valued, supported, and connected to a shared purpose.
For the past 12 years, Kim has served as Principal of Holy Angels School, where she has led a Catholic learning community focused on achievement, well-being, faith formation, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Throughout her career, she has also served as a classroom teacher, Special Education Resource, Student Work Study Teacher/Math Coach, and Numeracy Facilitator. These experiences have shaped her strong understanding of K–8 learning, rural and Northern Ontario education, and the importance of supporting each school community within its unique context.
Kim has contributed to many Board initiatives and portfolios, including Principal Leadership, Board Improvement Planning, school improvement, Catholic faith formation, mental health and well-being, special education, Indigenous education, equity and inclusive education, educational technology, mentoring, and professional learning.
Kim holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Yorkville University and is in the final modules of the Supervisory Officer Qualification Program through Lakehead University. Her graduate studies and leadership inquiry have focused on relationship-based, culturally responsive, and equity-centred leadership approaches that support student engagement, well-being, and achievement, as well as building leadership capacity within the Board.
Kim’s leadership philosophy has been influenced by the image of shepherd leadership: leading with humility, care, courage, and service. As Assistant Superintendent, Kim is committed to working collaboratively to continue strengthening our Catholic learning communities across the Board.
Please join us in congratulating Kim Figliomeni as she begins this new leadership role with Superior North Catholic District School Board.
