
Superior North Catholic District School Board is pleased to welcome Tanya Hawthorne to her new role as FSL/Literacy Lead effective September 2021.
Tanya has been teaching for over 13 years and has a passion for learning and sharing her knowledge with others. She is currently teaching French as a Second Language (FSL) at Holy Saviour Catholic School in Marathon. Most of Tanya's professional years have been at the elementary level for the French Catholic School Board. Tanya has qualifications in Special Education and Religious Education. She also has her Principal qualification and has spent time as a Principal at an elementary school in an Indigenous community.
Tanya brings her kind-hearted, honest, team player approach to this position. She is a collaborative and innovative risk-taker with excellent communication skills that are beneficial to being a team player. Tanya believes you can achieve anything you set your mind to and believes in creating a positive and motivating environment for all to grow and learn.
Ms. Hawthorne is excited to begin her new role at Superior North Catholic District School Board and is looking forward to working with all staff, students, parents, parish and community partners in the fall.
