Superior North Catholic District School Board is pleased to welcome Dr. Jennifer E. Figliomeni to her role as Literacy Lead, effective August 31, 2026.

Dr. Jennifer E. Figliomeni is returning to her roots in Schreiber and Terrace Bay, bringing with her over two decades of educational expertise.

Jennifer grew up in Schreiber and attended school in both Schreiber and Terrace Bay. Jennifer’s post-secondary academic journey began at Lake Forest College in Illinois, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and History, followed by a Bachelor of Education (K-9) from Lakehead University.

Her professional career took her to Chicago, where she taught for ten years while earning a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction and English as a Second Language (ESL) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Most recently, Dr. Figliomeni spent the last 10 years in sunny California, where she transitioned from classroom teaching into a Program Coordinator for Language and Literacy.

Jennifer is a lifelong learner, and she is passionate about reading as a fundamental human right and this commitment led her to earn her Doctorate of Education from Capella University in Reading and Literacy.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, reading, doing Pilates, travelling, and relaxing with movies and shows. She is looking forward to being back home to reconnect with our communities.
