The final session for Play and Pause learning with EdTech Team Canada for our Grade ¾ teachers and students was held Tuesday, November 17.

For the last 7 weeks, each week students and teachers participated in the EdTech Play and Pause workshops that were designed to support students familiarizing themselves with their Chromebook and the functionality of the Google Apps for Education platform.

Grade ¾ students from SNCDSB also had the opportunity to learn from two students from Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board who coded a syllabics keyboard to translate the Ojibwe language into syllabics symbols. Rayne and Gene from Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board students met with the Superior North Catholic District School Board via Google Meet to share their learning and experience working through the Google-funded project. It was so inspirational for SNCDSB to learn from Indigenous students who have excelled in Digital Literacy learning.

The final session was a culminating activity where students revisited all the skills they have learned playing a Jeopardy-style game. Devin Rossiter with Darren was just on Jeopardy at the beginning of November! He shared his experience of the love of learning with technology during the live meeting Tuesday morning. Our #SNCDSB students had the opportunity to meet him and he shared his experience with our students.
