The Holy Saviour Catholic School students learned about the importance of Remembrance Day throughout the week of Nov 6th - Nov 11th.
On Monday, November 6th, retired Chief Warrant Officer Michael Hamilton visited all classes to share information about Remembrance Day and answer questions they had prepared. Students participated in activities throughout the week and displayed their learning through visual displays on bulletin boards throughout the school. Each grade explored opportunities that helped students develop understanding, knowledge and meaningful connections to past and present reasons we take time to observe and reflect on Remembrance Day.

On November 10th, students gathered to participate in an outdoor ceremony and learn about the traditional parts of a Remembrance Day service and why they are important to remembering and honouring those who served our country, fought for our freedom and those who have died.
Each class created a wreath with symbols related to Remembrance Day, and a student from each class presented their wreath on a white cross placed below the flags.

Thank you to our educators, students and family members who participated in our week of Remembrance.
