Boozhoo Gakina Awiiya/Hello everyone, Superior North Catholic District School Board (SNCDSB) would like to welcome Erin Roxborough to her new role as Indigenous Education Manager.
Erin received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario and went on to earn her Graduate Diploma in Education from Wollongong University in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.
Erin was born and raised in Nipigon and is a proud member of the Red Rock Indian Band. Erin started her teaching career in Calgary, Alberta as an Indigenous Resource Teacher which fuelled her desire to learn more about her Ojibwe language and culture. She appreciated her time in Calgary which provided her with over 8 years of teaching experience and where she met her husband. Since moving back to Nipigon, Erin has worked various positions with both the Superior Greenstone District School Board, Superior North Catholic District School Board, and with the Anishinaabemowin Boodawe Committee, which has given her the opportunity to create relationships with a wide range of students, educators and communities.
Erin has always taken pride in her teaching career and Indigenous Education. She is honoured and excited to start a new chapter in her life with Superior North Catholic District School Board as the Indigenous Education Manager. She is inspired by what has been done and what we will continue to do for Ojibwe culture and language. Chi-Miigwech!
