Superior North Catholic District School Board (SNCDSB) welcomes Benjamin Jewiss as our new Elementary School Vice-Principal at St. Hilary Catholic School. Additionally, Ben will continue to have system portfolio responsibilities connected to Catholicity and Special Projects.

Ben has teaching and leadership experience in communities in Manitoba and across Northwestern Ontario. He was the former Principal of St. Brigid School in Nakina where he worked to implement an original, land and inquiry-based Ojibwe language and culture program as well as integrated and celebrated Catholic culture and Gospel values across the curriculum and throughout the community. Most recently, as a member of the SNCDSB System Support Team, Ben was the administrator overseeing the SNCDSB Remote Learning Program through Covid-19 and is our Catholicity and Special Projects Lead.

In these capacities, Ben worked with all schools to support and transition students to and from Remote Learning, and re-imagined Faith Ambassador roles within schools along with creating the SNCDSB Halo, a digital resource that supports Catholicity and Faith Development across our system.

Ben holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Education Degree from Nipissing University where he specialized in the Education of Native Canadians. He joined SNCDSB in 2013.

Congratulations Ben and welcome to your new role!
